I hate leather airline seats
Not really a huge customer service gripe, but inspired by the Air Canada story below, I felt like getting this off my chest.
I really like WestJet - the attitude, the service, the prices, the little satellite TVs in every row. But I wish they'd dump the crappy leatherette seats.
On long flights in particular, they're really just not comfortable. Your bum is sliding all over the place all the time, and there's no support. I just flew WestJet on the redeye back from Vancouver, and couldn't get comfy enough to sleep properly, as I kept sliding down so far in my seat. Short of wearing trousers made of sandpaper, I'm not sure what the solution to this is - other than just stripping out the darn faux-fancypants seats and putting in good ol' stinky airline fabric.

It's funny how one's man's garbage is another man's treasure.
I just flew in from Calgary (went to the stampede; my god can u say I-Candy), and flew on West Jet. Funny enough the lady sitting beside me was commenting on the leather seats. She loved them. Made her feel luxurious; she raved. She mentioned some of it's perks, ie,
more sanitized: as it's easier to clean and dirt doesn't stick within the fibers.
Hypo allergenic: once again cause dust can't stick within the fibres.
It's easier to clean for the airline.
That was pretty much the of the list, well as far as i can remember. So I'm a little in mixed thoughts as I haven't flown on westjet for longer than a couple hours. I would assume that 8 hours on a westjet flight could really be painful if someone was trying to get comfortable on leather.
good post either way.
I like the leather seats too. I flew recently and found Air Canada's leather seats to be much more cushy than the fabric ones.
I like the leather seats because I'm terrified of lice and other nasties. I can at least wipe off the leather seats. I wish all airlines had leather seats, not just in the First Class seating area.
