New mobile phone

I'm on a pay-as-you-go mobile phone plan, with no free phones for sticking with a monthly service plan. When the battery on my old phone started dying, and I was going out of town for a week, I went to a couple different stores to find the phone I was looking for, an inexpensive ($15) model. Everywhere was sold out, and they all tried to upsell me. They didn't have the $15 phone... but would I like the $60 model?

Frustrated, I was walking home when I saw the best buy mobile store. They actually were carrying the phone I wanted. Someone offered to help me out immediately, and when I said "I just want this phone", he didn't try to upsell me or anything, and offered to take my old phone and charger as part of a plan they have which would discount the new phone by $15, making it, in effect, free.

I was extremely happy with the service I received at this store.

Best Buy, Worst Experience

They might be the cheapest but my experience with them was the worst. All we wanted was an iPod and a little shelf stereo system with an iPod Dock. While Best Buy had the stereo system we wanted, neither of the two sales people helping us could figure out how to play the music. Went to Future Shop where we had fantastic service but just coudn't come up with the same great product....so the Future SHop guy said to go buy it online from Best Buy... which we did.

Ahhh wait. The product came but part of the shipment was missing. After endless amounts of time working through the prompts on the Best Buy customer service line and one disconnect i talked to a nice fellow. Who told me that i had to wait 7 days before they could initiate a trace on my lost package. That is their policy. Canada Post will allow the trace right away but it must come from the sender... not me, the receiver. DOH! So frustrating.... Besty Buy might be cheaper but they are NOT the better option... at least not in my experience. Burned by Best Buy.

Worst Best Buy - Markville Mall Markham ON

I want to Bust Buy at Markville Mall, Markham this Sunday, try to trade in my old Sony for a 50" 1080P Sharp LCD, price tag is $1699 and trade in is standard $250, but when I proceed to order it, the tag is gone, and sales also found stranger, system shows $2199 but online still is $1699, he called manager and been told, you pay online but no trade in or pay store price, I told him I am in your store not online order, but he refuse to sale, and He even dont let me have his named business card, I only can tell here he looks like a West India kind, Sti ..sh ..

I bought same item later at another Best Buy branch, but here I want to you know that Best Buy in general is OK but some store like Markville Mall has very low quality manager bring his non Canadian standard here. better avoid shop there
